Activated Dry Sheets & Towels

Private label dry sheets and towels that carry their own formula. Body wash, micellar, fragrance and cooling systems are coated onto the sheet and released when the user adds water or rubs it, then converted and individually wrapped in Holbrook, New York.

Why Dry

A wipe without the liquid

A wet wipe ships its formula as liquid, so the pack has to hold that liquid, protect it and stop it drying out. An activated dry sheet carries the same kind of formula as a dry coating on the fibres, and the user supplies the water, or the friction, at the moment of use.

That changes a few practical things. The product is lighter to ship than an equivalent liquid-loaded wipe, there is no free liquid to leak, and it travels as a compact dry format. For a brand it also opens formats a wet wipe cannot do well, like a sheet that lathers in the shower or a scent that only releases when rubbed.

It is not automatically cheaper. Precision coating and microencapsulation add manufacturing cost, while the dry format can save on weight, liquid freight and packaging. Whether it wins on total delivered cost depends on the product, so we compare it project by project.

Claims we only make with data

✓Shelf life

✓How long a scent or cooling effect lasts

✓“Preservative-free” or “alcohol-free”

✓Lower plastic than a wet wipe pack

Each of these depends on the final formula, its stability results and the package, so it is confirmed at the end of development rather than printed at the start.

Product Range

Types of activated dry sheets we develop

These five are the launch set: the applications the new line is best suited to, quoted as development and pilot programs now.

Water-activated

Body Wash & Soap Sheets

A coated nonwoven body wash sheet: wet it, rub it between your hands or on wet skin, and it lathers. The carrier sheet stays intact and is thrown away after use, so it is not a dissolving paper soap. A fully dissolving soap sheet would be a separate development program on a water-soluble carrier.

Water-activated

Micellar & Skincare Sheets

A dry facial sheet that rehydrates with a small amount of water and cleanses like a micellar wipe. Candidate actives include micellar cleansers, niacinamide and hyaluronic acid; heat-sensitive actives are tested individually against the drying stage.

Rub-to-release

Fragrance Sheets

Microencapsulated fragrance released by rubbing or handling, for personal scent sheets, linen and laundry sheets, in-pack scent inserts and retail samplers. We can coat the oil from your fragrance house.

Water or friction

Cooling Sheets & Towels

Two routes: an encapsulated cooling agent for a controlled sensory effect, or a menthol-free evaporative sheet that works on retained water. A dry counterpart to our wet cooling wipes, for seasonal and sports programs.

Water-activated

Activated Dry Cleansing Cloths

A coated version of our plain dry cleansing cloths: the cleanser is already on the cloth, loaded accurately and released with water, instead of the user adding their own.

undefined

Water-Activated Towels

Larger dry towels for travel bathing, camping, fitness, caregiving and hospitality, with the cleansing system released when water is added.

Custom Development

Development applications

These can be reviewed and quoted as custom development projects. They are not presented as finished products until product-specific prototypes are validated.

In development

Shampoo & Dry Shampoo Sheets

Two different products: a lathering sheet used with water, and a dry sheet pressed onto the roots. Each needs its own formula and testing.

In development

Deodorant Sheets

A cosmetic deodorant sheet rubbed onto dry underarm skin. Antiperspirant sheets are OTC drugs in the US and would be a separate program.

In development

Hair Color Root Touch-Up Sheets

A temporary, shampoo-removable color sheet rubbed over regrowth at the part or hairline, starting from a single prototype shade.

Comparison

Activated dry sheet vs wet wipe vs plain dry cloth

Three ways to put a cloth and a formula in someone’s hand. Each has a job it does best.

Development specifications

Starting points for a first trial. The final construction for each product is chosen through testing for strength, lather, residue and activation.

Starting substratesSoft viscose or lyocell/viscose nonwovens, around 45–80 gsm depending on the product
Development sheet sizes6 × 8, 8 × 8, 8 × 10 and 8 × 12 in; custom sizes within the line’s web width
ActivationWater, friction, pressure or heat, set by the encapsulation chemistry
FormulaSupplied by you, or development coordinated by us
Product classCosmetic and general consumer products first; OTC drug, EPA or device claims reviewed separately
SamplesTypically 4–8 weeks once formula and materials are available
MOQQuoted per project after trials

Packaging formats

  • Individually wrapped sheetssingle-dose sachets
  • Multi-count pouchesdry sheets, resealable
  • Folding cartonsboxed individual sheets
  • Canistersfor dry sheet counts
  • Coated rollssemi-finished, for converters

Every format gets a compatibility review against the coated sheet, because coating load and thickness affect folding and sealing.

How It Works

Steps for private label activated dry sheets

01

Product brief

The use, how it should activate, the formula or fragrance and who supplies it, the sheet size, the format and your quantity.

02

Feasibility

We check the formula against coating, drying and packaging, and flag any claim that would change how the product is regulated.

03

Pilot coating

Your formula is coated and microencapsulated on candidate substrates on our precision-coating line.

04

Samples

Development samples for your evaluation, typically 4–8 weeks after the brief and materials.

05

Validation & launch

Stability and packaging testing set the shelf life and claims; then MOQ and production lead time are quoted.

FAQ

Activated dry sheets FAQ

What is an activated dry sheet?

A dry nonwoven sheet that carries its formula as a coating on the fibres. The formula stays inactive in the pack and is released when the user adds water, rubs the sheet, or both, depending on how the product is designed.

Are dry sheets cheaper than wet wipes?

Not automatically. Precision coating and microencapsulation add manufacturing cost, while a dry sheet can save on product weight, liquid freight, leakage risk and packaging. The total delivered cost has to be compared for the specific product.

Do your body wash sheets dissolve?

No. Our standard body wash sheet is a coated nonwoven: it lathers with water and the carrier sheet is discarded after use. A fully dissolving soap sheet needs a water-soluble film or paper carrier and would be a separate development program.

What shelf life do activated dry sheets have?

It is set by testing the final formula, substrate and package, so we do not publish a shelf life before that testing is complete. Stability and packaging programs are coordinated as part of each project.

Are they good for travel?

They are a compact, travel-friendly dry format with no free liquid in the pack. Whether a specific product suits a particular travel use depends on its final formula and packaging.

Can you make antiperspirant or antibacterial sheets?

Not as part of the initial range. Antiperspirant and antiseptic or antibacterial skin claims make a product an OTC drug in the US, which needs its own formula, testing and facility review. We start with cosmetic products such as deodorant and cleansing sheets.

Can you put our own fragrance or formula on the sheet?

Yes. We can coat a formula you supply or an oil from your fragrance house, or coordinate development for you, after reviewing it for coating, drying, stability and packaging compatibility.
