Period Care Wipes

We manufacture private label period wipes built for one specific moment: a pad, tampon or cup change away from home. pH-balanced, odour-neutralising rather than perfumed, and sized to do the job in a single wipe. Made in the USA for feminine care brands, period-product companies and school and workplace programmes.

How it works

Neutralise the odour, do not perfume over it

Menstrual odour is not an inherent property of blood — it develops when blood and vaginal secretions meet skin bacteria and begin to break down, releasing volatile amines and short-chain fatty acids. There are two ways to respond. The cheap way is to add fragrance, which masks the volatiles with stronger ones and leaves the underlying chemistry untouched. The better way is to neutralise: an acidic buffer that keeps the surface pH low enough to suppress the bacterial activity generating the volatiles in the first place, plus chelating and odour-adsorbing agents that bind the amines directly.

Our formulation follows the second route. Lactic acid holds the wipe at pH 3.5–4.5 — the same rationale as our feminine wipes, and doubly important during menstruation when blood at pH 7.4 is already raising local pH and reducing the flora’s natural protection. Surfactant load stays low, no anionic detergents, and the default is fragrance-free with a mild neutralising system rather than a perfume.

Then there is the format, which is where period wipes genuinely differ from daily feminine wipes. The use case is a single change in a cubicle with no bin, sometimes at school, sometimes in a workplace washroom, often in a hurry. That drives a slightly larger, more substantial wipe that finishes the job in one pass, a silent-open sachet, and a genuinely dispersible flushable substrate, because a wipe with nowhere to go is the entire problem this product is solving.

At a glance

✓Lactic acid buffered to pH 3.5–4.5

✓Odour neutralisation, not fragrance masking

✓Larger, more substantial wipe — one-pass coverage

✓Genuinely dispersible flushable substrate

✓Silent-open single sachet for cubicle use

External use only. Not a treatment for infection or unusual odour — pack copy should point to a clinician.

Applications

Where period wipes sell

A focused category tied to a specific moment, which makes the marketing unusually clear and the repeat rate high.

01

Pad, tampon & cup changes

The core use case. A menstrual cup change in a public washroom is messier than a pad change and there is often no sink in the cubicle — cup users are among the strongest advocates for this product.

02

School & university programmes

Period-equity initiatives supplying free menstrual products in schools and campuses increasingly include wipes. Institutional volume, plain packaging, tight unit cost.

03

Workplace washroom provision

Employer-provided period products in office and facility washrooms, dispensed as single sachets alongside pads and tampons.

04

Period subscription boxes

Bundled with pads, tampons and cups in monthly DTC boxes, where the wipe is a low-cost item that noticeably improves perceived value.

05

Travel & emergency kits

Compact wallet packs carried for an unexpected start away from home — bought once and reordered on use.

06

Menstrual cup & disc brands

Co-branded or own-brand wipes sold as an accessory to reusable products, where the cleaning and handling need is greatest.

Private Label & OEM

A small SKU that punches above its cost

Period wipes are inexpensive to make and disproportionately appreciated, which makes them one of the best value-adds in a feminine or period-product range. The two things worth spending on are a genuinely dispersible substrate and a silent, discreet sachet. We build both, and we will supply a plain institutional variant alongside your branded retail pack.

✓Genuinely dispersible flushable substrate with qualified claims

✓Larger one-pass wipe size specified for the use case

FAQ

Period wipes FAQ

What are period wipes for?

Freshening during a period when a full wash is not possible — most often at a pad, tampon or menstrual cup change in a public or workplace washroom. They are a hygiene and comfort product for that specific moment, not a replacement for washing and not a treatment for anything.

Should period wipes be fragranced?

We recommend not. Fragrance masks odour without addressing its cause, and added fragrance is a common irritant in this application — a bad combination during menstruation when local skin is already more sensitive. A better approach is an acidic buffer that suppresses the bacterial breakdown producing the volatiles, plus agents that adsorb them. That is how our default formulation works.

Why does pH matter more during a period?

Menstrual blood has a pH around 7.4, which temporarily raises the normally acidic vulvar and vaginal pH and reduces the protective effect of the resident Lactobacillus flora. A lactic-acid-buffered wipe at pH 3.5–4.5 works with that environment instead of pushing it further off balance, which is exactly what an unbuffered pH 5.5 body wipe would do.

Are period wipes flushable?

Ours can be, on a dispersible substrate — and this is the one category where flushability genuinely matters, because the whole use case is a cubicle with no bin. That said, the claim needs qualifying: passing industry dispersibility testing is not the same as being universally welcome in municipal wastewater, and we help write claim language that is accurate rather than absolute.

Can period wipes be used to clean a menstrual cup?

They are useful for hands and external skin during a cup change, which is the messiest moment in cup use and often happens where there is no sink. For the cup itself, follow the cup manufacturer’s cleaning guidance — a personal hygiene wipe is not a device cleaner, and pack copy should not imply otherwise.

Do you supply period wipes for school and workplace programmes?

Yes, and we would suggest a separate SKU for it. Institutional buyers in period-equity programmes generally want plain, non-branded single sachets at the lowest defensible unit cost, dispenser-compatible, in bulk cartons. It is the same product with different artwork and packing, and it is a growing volume channel.
