Dashboard & Trim Wipes
We manufacture private label dashboard wipes that lift dust and restore the factory matte finish rather than adding the greasy shine most dressings leave behind — with a UV absorber to slow the cracking that actually kills a dashboard. Silicone-free, individually sealed, made in the USA.

How it works
What to clean a car dashboard with — and what ruins the finish
A dashboard fails in one specific way: UV light and heat cycling drive the plasticisers out of the polymer, the surface goes chalky and hard, and then it crazes and cracks. Everything that matters about a dashboard product follows from that. A good one slows the loss and blocks the UV. A bad one accelerates the loss while looking like it is doing the opposite, which is exactly what the classic glossy dressing does — the shine is a silicone or petroleum-distillate film sitting on a surface that is drying out underneath it.
Gloss also has two costs a driver notices immediately. It reflects the dash straight into the windshield in low sun, which is a genuine visibility problem rather than an aesthetic one, and being tacky it attracts dust, so the dash looks worse three days later than it did before it was dressed. Our formulation is deliberately silicone-free: a water-based cleaner with a benzotriazole-class UV absorber, drying to the low-sheen finish the manufacturer intended. It also does not outgas onto the inside of the windshield, which is where the haze that our glass wipes exist to remove actually comes from.
The household remedies are worth naming, because they are what people reach for. Dish soap is alkaline enough to strip the surface over time. Vinegar is acidic and dulls textured plastics. Furniture polish is silicone gloss with a fragrance. Baby wipes — the most common substitute of all — leave a surfactant and emollient film that goes tacky in the sun and then holds dust permanently. None of them fail visibly on day one, which is precisely why they persist.
At a glance
✓Silicone-free and petroleum-distillate-free
✓Benzotriazole-class UV absorber against crazing and cracking
✓Dries to a factory low-sheen finish — no windshield glare
✓Does not outgas onto the inside of the glass
✓Safe on textured, grained and soft-touch dashboard plastics
Not for: a high-gloss “wet look” — that is a separate formulation, and we will tell you what it costs the surface.
Applications
Where dashboard & trim wipes are used
The dashboard is the largest visible surface in a cabin and the one a buyer judges a used car by, which puts this wipe in front of a specific set of commercial buyers.
01
Used-car reconditioning
A matte, even dash is the single strongest signal of a well-kept interior on a forecourt, and it is achieved in one pass rather than with a dressing and a buff.
02
Dealership PDI and handover
New-car dashboards outgas hardest in their first year, so the wipe is genuinely useful rather than decorative at handover.
03
Fleet interior standards
Operators auditing vehicle condition specify a no-gloss product because glare on the windshield is a driver-safety finding.
04
Detailing brands
The companion SKU to an interior wipe — same customer, same visit, different finish requirement.
05
Hot-climate and sun-belt markets
UV protection stops being a marketing line and starts being the reason for repeat purchase.
06
Rental turnaround
Dust on a dash top is the first thing a renter sees; a sachet per turnaround is cheaper than a valet pass.

Comparison
Dashboard wipes vs. the rest of the automotive range
The dashboard product is defined by what it deliberately leaves out — silicone, gloss and fragrance oils that would end up on the windshield.

Private Label & OEM
Sell the finish, not the shine
The dashboard category is crowded with gloss, which makes a credible matte product genuinely differentiated on a shelf — and much easier to sell to fleet and dealership buyers, who have usually already been told by a driver that the shiny one causes glare. We will tune the sheen to a physical sample you send us, so the pack photograph and the product agree.
✓Sheen matched to a physical sample, dead matte through light satin
✓UV absorber load specified for your market’s climate
✓Optional anti-static additive for dust-heavy environments
✓Custom sachet, canister and softpack artwork
✓FOB, EXW and DDP terms — we handle the paperwork
FAQ
Dashboard wipes FAQ
What is the best way to clean a car dashboard?
Dust first with a dry cloth or a soft brush, because dragging grit across a grained plastic is what puts fine scratches into it. Then use a water-based, silicone-free wipe in overlapping passes, working into the grain rather than across it, and reaching the base of the windshield where dust accumulates most. Do not dress it afterwards. A dashboard that has been cleaned properly should look like a dashboard, not like a mirror.
Can I use household products to clean my car dashboard?
You can, and each of them costs you something. Dish soap is alkaline and strips over time. Vinegar is acidic and dulls textured plastic. Furniture polish is silicone with a fragrance — instant shine, permanent dust magnet. Baby wipes, which are the most common substitute, leave an emollient and surfactant film that goes tacky in the sun. If the only choice is between a household product and nothing, plain water on a microfibre cloth is the safest of them.
Why do you make a matte dashboard wipe instead of a glossy one?
Because gloss on a dashboard is a defect disguised as a feature. It reflects into the windshield in low sun, it transfers to anything that touches it, and being tacky it holds dust so the surface looks worse within days. It also does nothing for the actual failure mode, which is UV-driven plasticiser loss. We do formulate a high-gloss version when a customer’s market demands it — we simply do not make it the default and we say what it trades away.
Does a dashboard wipe really protect against cracking?
It slows the mechanism, which is the honest claim. Dashboards craze because UV and heat drive plasticisers out of the polymer, so a UV absorber in the film left on the surface genuinely reduces the dose reaching the plastic. What it cannot do is reverse damage already done, and no product can — a chalky dash has already lost the plasticiser. Regular use from new is worth far more than heavy use later.
Will this wipe leave streaks on a gloss piano-black trim panel?
Gloss black trim is the hardest surface in any modern interior, because it shows every fibre and every swirl. Our formulation will not streak on it, but the technique matters: one wet pass, then an immediate dry buff with a clean face of the wipe. For customers whose vehicles are heavy on piano-black we specify the lower-lint 50 gsm substrate used on our glass wipes instead of the standard 45 gsm.
Can dashboard wipes and interior wipes be the same product?
They can, and plenty of brands ship one SKU for both. The reason we separate them is the finish specification: an interior wipe has to be safe on fabric and rubber as well, which limits how much UV absorber and film-former you can carry, while a dashboard wipe is optimised for one material family and can do more for it. If you want a single SKU, we will build the interior formulation — it is the safer general case.
Other automotive wipes we manufacture
Dashboard programmes almost always ship with the two surfaces on either side of it.
