Stainless Steel Wipes

We manufacture private label stainless steel wipes on a mineral-oil-free polishing emulsion that lifts fingerprints and leaves an even satin finish along the grain — rather than the greasy shine that makes an appliance look worse a day later. Individually sealed or canister-packed, made in the USA.

How it works

How to clean stainless steel appliances without streaking

Brushed stainless has a directional grain — a pattern of fine parallel scratches from manufacturing — and every visible problem with a stainless appliance comes back to it. Fingerprints are skin oil sitting in the grain rather than on a flat surface, which is why they resist a dry cloth. Streaks are cleaner residue drying across the grain instead of along it. And the reason a freshly polished fridge looks perfect at 6pm and smeared at 9am is almost always that the product used to shine it was mineral oil.

The oil problem is worth being blunt about, because most of the category runs on it. Mineral oil gives an instant, dramatic shine and it never dries; it stays tacky, so every subsequent fingerprint sticks harder and picks up dust, and each application has to remove the previous one before it can do anything. Our formulation is mineral-oil-free: a light polishing emulsion that cleans the oil out of the grain and leaves a dry satin film with mild fingerprint resistance, which is what the appliance looked like in the showroom.

The technique is the other half, and it takes one line on a pack: always work along the grain, never across it. Run a finger over the door and you can feel which way it runs — usually vertical on a fridge door and horizontal on a dishwasher panel. Working across the grain drags residue into the scratch pattern instead of out of it, which is the streak. Follow with a dry buff on a clean face. For the surrounding worktops our kitchen wipes are the correct product; stainless polish on a countertop leaves a film.

At a glance

No mineral oil — dry satin finish rather than a tacky shine

Lifts skin oil out of the brushed grain, not just off the surface

Mild fingerprint resistance without a film that attracts dust

60 gsm soft spunlace, non-abrasive on a polished finish

Safe on brushed and polished stainless, chrome and coated steel

Not for: working across the grain — that produces the streak this product exists to avoid.

Applications

Where stainless steel wipes are used

Stainless is the most-photographed surface in a modern kitchen and the least forgiving of a bad product.

01

Kitchen appliances

Fridge, dishwasher, range and hood fronts — the visual anchor of the room and the surface a guest notices first.

02

Commercial kitchens

Prep tables, splashbacks and equipment fronts, cleaned constantly and inspected regularly.

03

Elevators and building lobbies

Stainless doors and panels in shared buildings, where handprints accumulate hourly and the finish is a maintenance KPI.

04

Appliance retail and showrooms

Display units handled by dozens of customers a day; a branded canister at the display is both a tool and a sample.

05

New-appliance handover

Manufacturers and retailers include a starter pack, which is one of the strongest private-label placements in this category.

06

Hospitality back of house

Where the standard is set by an inspection rather than by a customer’s eye.

The variable customers tune here is the balance between cleaning and finishing — a heavier polish load looks better on day one and worse on day three.

Household is a canister-led category — the pack lives on a counter or under a sink and is judged on the shelf, so tooling, label stock and lid feel matter as much as the fluid. We print full colour on canister sleeves, softpack film and sachets, and artwork proofs come back within 48 hours.

Comparison

Stainless wipes vs. the rest of the household range

This is the only product in the range that finishes a surface as well as cleaning it, which is why it is the only one built on an emulsion.

Private Label & OEM

The easiest household SKU to demonstrate

Stainless is the one household product where a thirty-second demonstration sells the pack, which makes it strong for retail endcaps, appliance-retail placement and social content. It is also where the oil-free claim is a genuine differentiator, because the customer has already been disappointed by an oil-based product and does not yet know why.

FAQ

Stainless steel wipes FAQ

Why does my stainless steel appliance streak after cleaning?

Two causes, and both are fixable. The first is working across the grain instead of along it — brushed stainless has directional micro-scratches, and cleaning across them pushes residue into the pattern rather than lifting it out. Run a finger over the panel to find the direction, usually vertical on a fridge and horizontal on a dishwasher. The second is an oil-based polish, which never dries and shows every mark within hours.

What is wrong with mineral oil stainless steel cleaners?

Nothing, if you only look at the first five minutes. Mineral oil produces an immediate deep shine, and because it does not dry it stays tacky — so it holds dust, every new fingerprint sits harder in it, and each subsequent clean has to strip the previous coat before it can do anything. Our formulation cleans the grain and leaves a dry satin film instead, which looks less dramatic on day one and considerably better on day three.

Can stainless steel wipes be used on chrome, aluminium or black steel?

Chrome, aluminium and coated or painted steel are all fine — the formulation is neutral and non-abrasive. Cast iron should never meet a water-based product, and unsealed brass and copper need a dedicated tarnish remover with a mild acid, which this deliberately is not. Black stainless and matte-finish appliances are fine but show polish residue more, so use less product and buff more.

Do these wipes remove scratches from stainless steel?

No, and any product claiming to is either an abrasive that will change your finish or a filler that hides the scratch until it washes out. A real scratch in brushed stainless is repaired mechanically, by re-graining with progressively finer abrasive along the existing direction — a job for a specialist on an appliance you care about. What this product does is remove the oil and residue that make an intact finish look dull.

How is this different from a kitchen wipe?

A kitchen wipe is alkaline and built to cut cooking grease off a worktop; it will clean an appliance front but leaves nothing behind and shows every fingerprint immediately afterwards. This is a neutral polishing emulsion built to leave a finish. Using stainless polish on a countertop is the reverse error — it leaves a film you will then have to remove.

Is there a version for commercial kitchens and elevators?

Yes, and it is usually a different specification: larger sheets, higher saturation and bulk refill formats rather than retail canisters, because the surface areas are much larger and the cleaning is done on a schedule. Building-maintenance buyers also tend to want a fragrance-free version, which we run from the same base.
